Small lots, big edges: lawn mowing Alexandra Headland in context
Local context
Alexandra Headland is a coastal rocky headland of about 1.6 km² between the Maroochydore CBD and Mooloolaba, sitting between the Maroochy and Mooloolah river estuaries. Flats and apartments make up 53.5% of occupied private dwellings, separate houses 35.6% and semi-detached homes or townhouses 7.9%.
Common challenges
With that mix, lawns tend to be small, shared or tucked behind buildings. Access is often a stairway, a narrow side path or a gate beside the bins, and the turf is hemmed in by paving, pool fences and garden beds, so there's a lot of edge for very little grass. A full-size mower is often the wrong tool before you even reach the lawn.
Why it matters
On census night, 20.7% of private dwellings were unoccupied, and 37.5% of occupied homes were rented. Many headland lawns are therefore looked after by an absent owner, an agent or a body corporate, with nobody standing in the yard to notice when edges creep or weeds take over a courtyard.
Our approach
Our lawn mowing Alexandra Headland visits start with access. We note stairs, gates and parking at the quote, bring push mowers sized for the job and agree a clear scope for shared lawns. Then it's careful mowing and edging, weeding where needed, and everything carried out.
